I wanted to write and tell you all that I have won a major art award.  I entered my Penn Band painting in the annual contest sponsored by The Artist's Magazine (a national publication - I'm not sure how available it is outside the U.S.) and won first place in the student division, still life category.  This is really big news, very exciting and

I am sorry to hear of your loss. While time does cushion things, losing a mentor (especially so unexpectedly and so young,) is extremely hard. Many hugs, thoughts and prayers for you and his family.

Great job, Jen! We all new it was a winner when you first started letting us see it. I do hate that about your teacher and friend. A terrible loss, but from what you describe he was able to go peacefully.
