Summary: James does a little stalking during the Valentine’s Hogsmeade weekend.
Okay, my first drabble ever - and now I remember why! I have issues with limited wordcounts and I had to delete half of the original drabble. I hope you’ll enjoy it anyway.
James watched as his date ran out of the crowded, cherub-filled teashop. He was nothing short of the world’s biggest git.
‘Here you go, the first date set. Enjoy.’
He looked up at Madam Puddifoot whose disapproving gaze confirmed his own conclusion.
Yes, he truly was an ass.
It was pathetic, James thought, as he stared longingly at the couple a few tables away. He was pathetic, but then again, this was the closest he’d ever gotten to dating Lily Evans. Literally. He had promised his date, Vanessa Blye, a good time at Hogsmeade; and, incidentally, ‘a good time’ meant leaving right after Lily and Jason, accidentally visiting every shop they went to and even following them into ( ... )

Rating & Warnings: PG-13-suggestive sexual references
Summary: Not every date at Puddifoot’s is romantic.
“Evans, do y’ reckon you might start to at least pretend you’re having a brill time? Would it help if I showed you what these trousers do for my bum?”
The boy began to stand, but Lily effectively halted his movements with a quick draw of her wand.
“Bloody hell, woman-it was a suggestion.”
“May I make a suggestion?” She tried to contain her smirk.
“Certainly, date.”
“Might you stop ogling Penelope Sloper’s breasts? I can assure that if you take a break to look me in the eyes now and again, they’ll still be there when you go back.”
“Gudgeon keeps obstructing my view! Don’t know what she sees in the ponce-spilled hot chocolate on his shirt twice and nearly wet himself when she reached round for the sugar.”
“Sirius, you nearly wet yourself when she reached for the sugar ( ... )

Summary: Puddifoot's, tea & pastries, and a conversation.
"Goodness, has Gyrffindor's star Chaser been ditched on a date?"
"As if. And I wouldn't call it a date, really. Elaine wanted to make Davies jealous, and you know, she's a friend and a damn fine Qudditch team-mate, so I figured I'd help her out."
"I'm sure the pastries and the no-strings-snogging were a bonus."
"Are you jealous?"
"Since your date went off to hump Mark Davies at the back of the shop, not really, no."
"Damn, woman! I do not need that mental image when I'm drinking my tea ( ... )

Summary: The first time James asks Lily out doesn't go exactly as planned.
The flyer had been thrust in his hand two days ago by a freckle-faced boy distributing an entire stack of them in the hall between classes: Madam Puddifoot’s Valentine’s Specials. James had cracked a joke right along with Sirius about the Lovebird Menu before stashing it in his knapsack and continuing on his way.
But later that night, arms tucked behind his head, gazing up at the canopy of his four-poster, Lily Evans came to mind-again. Their relationship had always been contentious and adversarial ever since that first train ride. And for a few years he’d liked it that way…
Until the pangs started.
Now he found himself flicking open the cover of his text for the third time, glancing at the flyer again.
Lily was seated two rows up and one seat right, red hair spilling across the back of her school robes, preventing his brain from concentrating on anything else. Meanwhile, ( ... )
