One of the saddest and most beautiful songs evar is "Catch the Wind" by Donovan (1965). I guess the version I knew and loved was live, or something? Because the album version is much faster and less tender, and I don't like it as well. (mrghoul, help me out?? And I can't find that ( Read more... )

Just heard the most wonderful (albeit melancholy) song on the radio, and listened till I had enough of the lyrics to Google it. It's "Living on a Thin Line" by the Kinks. (I thought it sounded like Ray Davies singing -- apparently, it's his brother Dave.) What a great song, my gods! How did I never hear this before? It came out in 1984.
