I'm livid.  In 13 weeks, I saw 10 shows... NINE of which were friends' bands.  I miss seeing (forgive me) REAL bands.  dude_mcdude is in a band in this circle of friends, so it's hard not to feel obligated to support everyone.  I spend most of the time just catching up with everybody (not really listening to the band, as I've seen it all a zillion times ( Read more... )

• Paper Daughter : A Memoir by M. Elaine Mar -- As school books go, a quick, enjoyable read.  The author paints a picture of her pain & isolation growing up caught between two cultures. 
• Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy by Irvin D. Yalom -- This book KICKS ASS.  I was already a huge fan of Yalom, ( Read more... )

• Million Dollar Baby - finally saw this last night with Jim.  I liked it plenty, more than I thought I would.  It's funny, boxing seems so brutal & wrong to me, but I'm still somewhat fascinated by the art of it - I blame this on the chunk of literature I've read about boxing (everyone should read Thom Jones' Pugilist At Rest if nothing ( Read more... )
