... last night, my other future husband, Stephen Malkmus, played an in-store show at Sonic Boom. Dedication to my education (why? WHY??) caused me & JMC (aka the REAL future)to arrive late. From out on 15th Ave, just spitting distance from the Canterbury Tavern, I could see a tiny, little 2-inch version of heaven through a sea of fervently nodding heads, a hefty striped-shirt employee, a store window & a sidewalk crowd. The place was so mobbed we couldn't even buy the CD.

But Stephen's heavenly voice wafted out through the crowd, begging: "Melbon, please. Choose me." How much is this my future husband?:
