The breathless air of August
Back home in Ohio, after driving from 8:30 til well about 8:30. I made a lot of stops along the way and also ate dinner with Monica. She gave me a cool pencil box from India. i'm here
i am at my new CTY site, right now just hanging out and taking a break before dinner. we have been basically doing all that orientation jazz, meeting with my TA. Tomorrow we are going to set up the classroom more, it is spacious but ugly looking right now, atleast in my opinion. decorate and whatnot. i am pretty tired from road tripping and sitting ( Read more... ) -

hey, i am leaving on wednesday to go to pennsylvania for CTY. I am stopping to meet up with a friend from UVA along the way. That will be fun! just hanging out
i have basically been hanging out lately, also trying to finish my syllabus for the creative writing course i'm teaching this summer. working on getting a draft of my experience poetry book to send to a publisher. i don't know when i'll do that. each publisher has pretty specific guidelines. in order to do that well, i kind of have to be in the ( Read more... ) -

so i found a job in california. it was an interview that came through at the last minute while i was there doing other interviews, and i really liked it. they liked my sample lesson and style of teaching, so it is going to be a good fit for me, i think. i am going to teach 6th grade English (reading and writing) two sections, and a section of ( Read more... ) -

i just watched the dragostea din tei by ozone video, you know that romanian song that was really popular!? it is SUPER HILARIOUS! If you need a laugh, definitely watch it. They are dancing around all these places in mirrored sunglasses and tight white pants and then at one point they are cartoons with vampire teeth. oh man. i can't describe the joy ( Read more... )
