serendipitous is a word i love, but don't exactly remember how to spell.
today, there were moments of hilarity. we were reading these two stories i wrote years ago. there was a girl rachel, and an amish boy paul, and there are two stories, one from each character's perspective. paul gives rachel a rose as a symbol of friendship. we were trying to discuss how while the plot was the same, the point of view, which character tells the story changes how we view the story. one girl in class was fixated, believing that paul was secretly in love with rachel. she already had the giggles, and tried to quote the line: "his heart was fairly bursting with emotion," to prove her point, but instead shouted very dramatically, "his FART was fairly bursting..." and we all started completely cracking up, like dissolving in laughter, my face was so red. the other half of the class was coming in from their discussion and asking what was up, and we were laughing so hard we could barely repeat and then we were all cracking up for about five minutes. oh, what a classic moment.
at our poetry reading, we had a snack break and listened to the cd poetry speaks. and there was this cool moment where the kids started reciting along with 'stopping by the woods on a snowy evening' even kind of swaying back and forth to the rhythm of the poem.
another word i like: sublime
