i'm here
i am at my new CTY site, right now just hanging out and taking a break before dinner. we have been basically doing all that orientation jazz, meeting with my TA. Tomorrow we are going to set up the classroom more, it is spacious but ugly looking right now, atleast in my opinion. decorate and whatnot. i am pretty tired from road tripping and sitting in meetings all day. everyone here is nice and pretty much normal. california seemed to attract some random people, no one here is as blatantly weird or outrageous (in the best way possible), just friendly and things seem to be very organized and running smooth. it is an adjustment from stanford, the schedule is different and the campus is teeny tiny, but in a good way b/c you don't have to hike to get to the classroom or anything, so that is a bonus for me. i only have 12 kids in my class, so I am very excited on that note. downside: there's no "keyhole" and no fountains to go swimming in.
