From where she stands, Romana can't see anyone, but she has the distinct impression she is being watched. She looks around, trying to see if anyone is there.
The Doctor saw it all, each heartbreaking, heart wrenching dream that Romana had that seemed to confirm all her worst fears about getting involved with humans. With anyone.
Walking slowly, he approached her where she was on the street.
She wants to brush it off with a, whatever are you talking about, but it would be a lie. She's too tired to lie, not with the only person who always seems to see through them.
Tony was glad to be free of his own nightmare, although he didn't exactly know that's what was happening to him. All he knew is that he saw a series of events between himself and Romana that weren't real. That would never happen.
When she was left by herself on the street he walked up quietly behind her and placed a hand on her arm.
She stiffened at the touch, now he was coming to her to send her off? Or perhaps so he could actually die in her arms instead of from a distance? Either way, she couldn't do it, she couldn't lose him anymore tonight.
"Please no, not again." She whispered, her head falling and her hair covering her face.
She remained stiff in his arms, unwilling to relax, to think that there was anyway for this to end any better than any of the other encounters that night.
"You might. There's nothing to stop you, certainly nothing I can do."
Donna wanders down the street, wondering whose dream she was in this time. She catches sight of Romana and smiles brightly. Whether it's Romana's dream or the Time Lady is just a fellow wanderer, it's good to see her face.

It falters when she sees who it is. For a fleeting moment, she'd hoped it was Tony.

It takes her a moment to recognize the voice as she looked around for the man who was speaking.
