Donna wanders down the street, wondering whose dream she was in this time. She catches sight of Romana and smiles brightly. Whether it's Romana's dream or the Time Lady is just a fellow wanderer, it's good to see her face.
Donna's heart breaks at Romana's words. "Don't say that!" she scolds gently, reaching for her friend. "This is just a dream. It's just your subconscious being silly. Tony isn't going to die, and he's not going to leave you. He's not an idiot."
Romana stands still at Donna's touch, unflinching. "Of course he isn't an idiot, Donna. He's brilliant. And sooner or later, he'll realize that logically he should find someone else."
"Because there is no logic to this relationship." Romana ticks the points off on her fingers. "It has the potential to interfere with work, we are - literally - from different planets, I find explosions and excitement distasteful - he finds them exhilarating, I prefer a more...restrained public persona - he's an exhibitionist, and really, Donna - I don't care what your species thinks, sexual compatibility is not the basis of a good relationship." She arches an eyebrow. "Should I go on?"
Donna rolls her eyes at Romana. "Love isn't about logic, you ninny," she says affectionately. "And no, it's not just about passion either. It's about heart, how you feel about him and how he makes you feel. It's...inexplicable, really. How does that old saying go? 'The heart has its reasons, which reason may not discern'. Besides," she reaches to squeeze Romana's hand comfortingly. "All those incompatibilities you mentioned? They can change. Before meeting the Doctor, I didn't like excitement either, and I didn't care a whit about the world around me. When he first asked me to travel with him, I actually said no. Can you believe it? I still can't believe I was so daft. But I thought that wasn't the kind of life I wanted. And I was wrong."
She took a moment to gather herself. "Just enjoy what you have now. Don't borrow trouble. You have something beautiful."
"Yeah. I have." Donna stares up at the sky, not wanting Romana to see how she's tearing up. "I've been married twice, you know. Well, I never actually got married the first time, and the second time ended up not being real, but... I loved them both. I never got my happy ending, but I still cherish those memories."
"Yes." Donna's voice carries more conviction than she actually feels; there are many lonely nights when she wonders if Lee was it -- if the only man who can honestly love her is a figment of her imagination made real by a computer program. But Romana doesn't need to know that. "There's someone for everyone. And maybe Tony's the one for you. You can't sabatoge your relationship with fears about things that may never happen."
"Romana!" she shouts as she jogs over.

With the wave of a hand, Romana motions to the end of the road where the image of a broken Iron Man lays crumbled on the ground. "Or he'll be killed."

"Do you still believe? Believe that there's someone for you?"
