I've been hearing people pronounce Demyx's name "Demy-ex"
...It wasn't really a big deal when the first person said it.
But after awhile, it gets a little annoying.
I even tried correcting them, telling them it was pronounced "Dem-ix"
But they didn't believe me and said I was wrong!
Err...Yea, it's just...annoying.

First of all...

The honorific  -chan is an intimate honorific and I highly doubt that any guy would immediately refer to a girl as -chan and have the girl comfortable with it right away, without even knowing his name. I was thinking about Demyx/Zexion, and i've realized something: Almost every large fandom has a pairing between a chatty, silly, childlike character and a silent, moody character. In the Inuyasha fandom, it's Sesshomaru/Rin. In the Teen Titans fandom, it's Beast Boy/Raven and why anyone would write Beast Boy/Anyone, I don't know. It skirts too ( Read more... )
