I'm noticing a pattern.

I was thinking about Demyx/Zexion, and i've realized something: Almost every large fandom has a pairing between a chatty, silly, childlike character and a silent, moody character. In the Inuyasha fandom, it's Sesshomaru/Rin. In the Teen Titans fandom, it's Beast Boy/Raven and why anyone would write Beast Boy/Anyone, I don't know. It skirts too close to beastiality.  Our fandom's version of that trope is Demyx/Zexion.  This kind of pairing is fine, except when it is OOC.

The problem is, Demyx really isn't that childlike, and Zexion, frankly, can't keep his mouth shut. In fact, the only reason people write Zexion as the silent type is because his vaguely emo hair and his cold stare. I can understand why paring a talkative person with a moody, emo person is so appealing (the contrast), but DON'T RAPE CHARACTERIZATION IN ORDER TO DO SO. I mean, god, if you really want to write a pairing like that, write a Sora/Lexaeus fic. Actually, nevermind, don't do that and let me sleep without having nightmares, plzkthnx

EDIT: I'm sorry, I should have made it clear that not all Zemyx authors use that trope. It can be written well, like all pairings. For example, they both share some common bonds, which are loyalty to Organization XIII and the fact that neither of them are good with direct fighting.

demyx, zexion, ooc, pairings
