Ginkgo is doing much much better now, is a rather playful puppy. She has also put on a lot of weight and seems to be growing like crazy! We got a call from the vet's today, saying that in teh past 24 hours Ginkgo has done so much better! She's been drinking and eating! So they told us to come get her! We just picked her up :) She looks good - didn't really seem to lose weight. She's eating right now, in fact, which is a great thing to see ( Read more... )

Well, we just got another update on Ginkgo - she is about the same. Still no eating or drinking. She is whining a bit, which they say is a good sign? We're told it'll be at least another 2 days before she can come home (and even then only if she's eating and drinking by herself). Needless to say, our vet bill is growing and growing. Poor Ginkgo. She wasn't eating and was acting kinda weird, so we took her to the vet. Turns out she has Parvovirus - a fairly common, but dangerous virus for puppies. Basically it attacks the intestines so the dog can't eat (and they'll vomit whatever they do eat), and so they just get weaker and weaker. So she is going to stay at the puppy ( Read more... )

Wow, yeah, we just got home. But we have a new adorable little puppy! We are very tired, so we're pretty much going straight to bed. I'll post again in the morning!

Well, we're going to try it. We're headed for Oklahoma this morning! We have our cell phone with us (plus tons of emergency supplies, blankets, etc etc), so we'll see how it goes. If it's bad, we can always turn back. Hopefully by this evening we'll be home with a cute cute puppy! I'll report back later!

Chris and I are going to get a puppy! Depending on the weather, we may be able to go get her this weekend :) She will be one of four in a litter of Malamute/German Shepherd puppies currently in a rescue place in Oklahoma. I found out about them on Petfinder.com ( Read more... )

So I went to that interview today, and I suppose I'm not holding my breath. Not that it went badly - it was just awkward. It was a group interview, with about 7 or 8 other applicants. Well, I actually have a job interview today at 3pm....it's just an initial group interview and I don't know much about the position, but it's a start.
