We are now well-rested and breakfasted :)
The weather was pretty good on our trip to Oklahoma, but the roads weren't very good. Well, they ranged from Ok at best, to Crappy at worst. So we had to move slower, so it took a lot longer. We left at 6:45am and didn't get home until midnight, stopping only for gas and about 30 mins of actually getting the puppy - so we were on the road for a very long time.
We got the puppy from a place called OK Save a Dog - which is a nonprofit dog rescue run by just one woman. She lives in rural Oklahoma, and has a TON of dogs out there (the husband estimated 50). They brought out 2 puppies (the other 2 had already been taken), and we had to choose between them. It was so hard!! They were both adorable and sweet. In the end, we decided to get the one that was slightly smaller and calmer (the other was big and rambuncious!). She is so sweet and adorable :) We put her in a big tub that we had in the back of our Jeep, which had a blanket and a toy for her. She alternately slept and whined all the way home :) We had cleaned out our partially-demoed laundry room downstairs and fenced it off as a kind of puppy pen for her, and as soon as we took her out of the car and put her in it she started pooping. Poor little thing must've been holding it the entire time!!
I will try to take some good pictures of her soon, and post them.
Oh, by the way, we decided to name her Ginkgo - I think it suits her :)
