Since I'm a priest, it's obvious that I'm a theist--a henotheist panentheist if you want to be ridiculously precise. However, I'm not wanting to lecture everyone. What religious systems do you all have where you come from? Do you adhere to them ( Read more... )

priestly business, lol religion, ridiculously sincere, saint television

There's some folk religions where I'm from that I'm unfamiliar with save for holidays. I was raised with no religious belief and as of now hold none.

And yes the discs are in the library.

Really? If you like television dramas, we should watch some together.

Of course. Whenever you like.

I'd like that. Maybe you can explain some of the medical stuff to me. I'm not all that familiar.

The creation of Cybertron was not the work of a deity, but a singular artifact - The Allspark.

However, that artifact has since been destroyed, leaving us to hope there is another source of life - Or as a race, we are doomed to extinction.

Perhaps the idea of an all powerful 'god' is more uplifting than the painful truth, but it would be hard to believe in one as such, when I witnessed the destruction of the All Spark myself.

The idea of human mythology is absolutely fascinating. How so many various cultures can believe in so many ideas, so many methods behind their creation - It leaves me to wonder, scientifically, which of these is the truth.

Of course, I am sure that a period of long study could uncover the answers to that question... But I am almost more interested to hear the fanciful theories developed by various 'tribes.'

[Glaukir thinks that Ironhide is incredibly arrogant and very condescending, but he's not about to say that.]

So was worship of the Allspark a part of the culture?

I believe in the Forgotten Shadow, the power of myself and the idea that I can and will twist the world to my own ends.

What's the Forgotten Shadows?

[The rest he ignores--for now.]

The opposite of the Holy Light, I guess. We're the ones who've been forgotten. The ones forsaken by humanity, by everything we held dear. The shadow is the sum of our pain, our anger, our fear. It is a power that ultimately serves us.

'Course, you ask another Forsaken, they could tell you something entirely different.

It sounds like your philosophy is very respectful of personal differences. That's fascinating.

[He's not mocking her. Glaukir is entirely sincere.]

So the Shadow is more of a group pathos?

So you don't believe in a deity. Is that typical where you come from?

I don't not believe in one, there isn't one. There's chemistry, biology and physics, and other sciences that humans don't understand. And then there's humans, who make more sentient beings and keep pets so they can feel like gods.

Mm, so you're a materialist. Interesting.

[Glaukir isn't upset by Bass' insistence on the lack of any deity. He's met atheists before, and Bass just sounds like a militant one.]

So do you believe in any universal system of morals?
