Sam's reaction to suddenly having a kid in his life was interesting to write. He seemed like the kind of guy who'd want to settle down and have a few kids in the first two seasons. And then shit happened and suddenly Dean seemed more like the "family man" type. Specially after the S3 ep with the sleep walking.
Looooved this. Dean and Sage, AUGH, could not have been more adorable. And man, I cannot pass up a Dean-with-powers fic. Necromancy! So creepy and yet SO AWESOME. That scene at the graveyard was awful in the best way possible. Loved how you portrayed psycho Clayton; again with the creepy! Thirding the request for turning this into a 'verse!
Yay! I totally know what you mean about being unable to pass up a Dean-with-powers fic. I have gone on a searching rampage just to find them. I think I have most of the bookmarked, too.
As for Clayton, he was just so damn cheerful to be anything but creepy. I actually had to cut a few scenes I'd planed with him in them. Mostly because writing them made my skin crawl way to much.
And it is mostly from these comments that I decided to give writing more for this story a try. I've got a few ideas I'm kicking around at the moment. Don't know how successful they are going to be in getting written, but I'm promising to try and get them out.
I loved this! Your story was extremely captivating and I didn't want to stop reading even when I had to leave and head to work ;) You accomplished two things - making me like Ruby in a story [she was great at cutting through the bullshit, intentionally or accidentally] and making me enjoy a kid!fic, which I normally avoid. But your summary sucked me in and I'm so glad it did
( ... )
Getting you to like Ruby wasn't really intentional (though her use as a way to cut through the bullshit was), I can't really apologize for getting you like a kid!fic. There is a secret formula to getting just about anyone to like kid!fic, once you know it the trick is then getting your reader to open your story first (which I'm happy to know my summary did the trick for!).
I am really glad you enjoyed the story. And I will totally admit that at 50,000 words I was ready to throw myself in front of a bus just to see the end of it. But it was fun to write and I'm just happy that people are enjoying the read.

I loved Sam's reaction to having a child thrust into his life suddenly, and Dean's characterization throughout the story was awesome
