I loved this! Your story was extremely captivating and I didn't want to stop reading even when I had to leave and head to work ;) You accomplished two things - making me like Ruby in a story [she was great at cutting through the bullshit, intentionally or accidentally] and making me enjoy a kid!fic, which I normally avoid. But your summary sucked me in and I'm so glad it did.
Loved the intimacy between Sam and Dean [especially the sex on the bathroom floor] - it was all perfectly done, making me *feel* how, even though they'd been together for a while, they were trying to find their footing together again. And your style of writing - taking some familiar, cliched phrasing and adding your own twists - everything flowed so well! I think my favorite line of the whole thing was when you said something to the tune of "you don't have to believe in a god to be a piece on their chessboard." Great line!
My only complaint was that it ended too soon! [Although I'm sure that at 50,000 words, you don't feel the same way =)] Excellent job, and definitely one of my favorite Sam/Dean Big Bangs so far.
Getting you to like Ruby wasn't really intentional (though her use as a way to cut through the bullshit was), I can't really apologize for getting you like a kid!fic. There is a secret formula to getting just about anyone to like kid!fic, once you know it the trick is then getting your reader to open your story first (which I'm happy to know my summary did the trick for!).
I am really glad you enjoyed the story. And I will totally admit that at 50,000 words I was ready to throw myself in front of a bus just to see the end of it. But it was fun to write and I'm just happy that people are enjoying the read.
