Mmm... it's been ages since I had such nicely cooked homemade white rice. That's right, my first batch of beautiful rice from my new Zojurushi cooker. <3 Ah... no more microwaved instant rice, just perfect rice. Yum!

I went out with some strangers for dim sum today. Most of them were people from home and our neighboring country who share the same employer and their spouses. There were 14 of us, and among them about 4 were wives and friends. It was a nice gathering and we went to this busy Chinese restaurant serving dim sum. That's what I've found so far at least. From my experience and from what I read in a mailing list at work of my fellow countrypeople, there is only one chain of restaurants serving up local food, one in Seattle and one in Bellevue. Bleh. Cafeteria food sucked this week. Apparently they still treat it as holiday week so the full complement of stalls weren't open. Besides a smaller sandwich and the usual salad line, the rest were unhealthy food like pizza, burgers, and fried chicken.
