there has been some talk about wfi's website containing spyware/adware/tracking software - and certainly my browser really acted like this was the case after i visited their site.

my question: wouldn't this violate the tos of their host site?

couldn't this theoretically get *them* banned from their host?

On January 11, 2007, I reported a comment from someone who expressed a desire to rape a girl that lived near them. It was anonymous, so I understand how they couldn't do anything. But this is what the support ticket went like:

Has anyone thought to check out blogger.com, the site by which WFI is hosted.  I know it's associated with Google and they usually bypass things, however I'm going to check their TOS, policies, etc.  I'm not going all Hammurabi and saying an eye for an eye, but maybe there's some way to combat this from the inside.  I'll get back to this later on ( Read more... )

I definately understand the concern for everyone and their fear of losing some of their freedom of speech. I've seen a lot of people mentioning that various support communities were terminated as part of this purge. I haven't actually seen a citation of which ones, in particular, were taken down. I think it is reasonable that the actual pro-child-molestation communities were terminated, as they were actually inciting predation. It is unreasonable ( Read more... )

I agree with you. This whole little crusade is wrong, and you're right. I believe in freedom of press and freedom of speech, as well as messages in fanfiction and fiction.
