What if, after Cas leaves at the end of 8x17, he doesn't have to stay away all the time? Like, he needs to protect the tablet, but he can pop by every now and then. I'd love if Dean, even though he trusts Cas now, experiences some kind of PTSD at Castiel's presence after getting the shit beaten out of him by the angel. Small things; like startling in a panicked rather than annoyed way when Cas flutters in, flinching away from Castiel's touches, those kinds of things. Cue hurt! and guilty!CAs, and self-flagellating!Dean because He's A SOldier He Should Be Better Than This Also Sammy Needs Me To be Strong Right Now(TM).Bonus if Cas takes to touching Dean more to try and get the hunter to trust him again, and Dean slowly letting him. Gen or Dean/Cas - it's all good.

It's basically all he's been doing this season - twice in Purgatory, then after 8x08, again after Samandriel and now with the tablet. I know it hasn't always been Castiel's choice, but does Dean?

After Sam leaves for school, lonely, self-loathing Dean is increasingly careless and allows himself to be injured far more often...which means John (and Bobby/Caleb/Jim/random friends and acquaintances, but mostly John) spends more time patching him up/maybe fussing over him a bit, in his manly man John way. Dean, starved for affection as he is, subconsciously enjoys the attention and continues to allow such minor (and increasingly not minor) injuries to happen. John rags on him for being careless, but also pays attention to him, and is never any the wiser. The pattern continues (maybe because Dean's forgotten how to be any other way) after Dean picks Sam up at Stanford, and Sam does notice what's going on, but can't figure out why. He gets annoyed/frustrated with Dean before he works out what's really going on and then there's comfort, etc.
Gen, please! Your call on how aware Dean is of what he's doing and exactly how masochistic he is (his self esteem being what it's not exactly difficult to imagine his developing almost as unhealthy a fixation on hurting himself as on being patched up), but please no outright deliberate self-harm such as cutting.
TL;DR: lonely affection-started Stanford-era Dean allows himself to get hurt so John (and later Sam) will pay attention to him. Sammy gets wise to what's up.

[spoilery prompt]I'm sure we all remember the reversal of the Swan Song scene in last week's episode. I have several prompts for this, I think, because FEELS. But ahem.
Basically, Crowley's announced arrival prompts Castiel to leave as soon as he gets control of himself - he has to. He apologizes to Dean, for everything; and leaves before he has time and opportunity to heal Dean's cracked face and busted arm. So that's how Sam finds his brother, and it's Sam who gets Dean out of there and home to get fixed.
Copious amounts of hurt/comfort please, and I'd prefer Sam/Dean GEN for this one (although if you want to add Dean/Cas flavor to the h/c, I will squee). Sam fixing Dean's face, asking him about what happened, and Dean trying to sleep in his new bedroom.

I don't know, go nuts) and results in a nasty panic attack in the middle of a crowded theme park.

So finally, either on his way to get Sam & Benny in Maine or on their way back to the boat after he finds out Benny didn't want to come back, the stress and grief and guilt gets to him and Dean has to finally break down and cry about it. BONUS if you include angst about what Naomi said about Cas, too! I'd prefer gen or background Dean/Cas feelings for this one, but of course Dean/Benny or Sam/Dean would also be welcome!

[spoilery prompt]They decide that it's a good idea to have Dean come with Sam to rescue Bobby from Hell, considering he knows his way around there already. But then not only does he wind up having to go through Hell, but also Purgatory. He winds up really triggering his PTSD from both places, panicking and having terrible flashbacks and remembering stuff he had previously blocked out. As he passes, some souls recognize him from his days as torturer and start screaming and screaming in fear. Sam has to try and take care of his brother and calm him down enough for him to get them to Bobby and back.

Dean is on immunosuppressent drugs for a condition that requires them (some examples would be long-term asthma control, arthritis, to prevent the rejection of transplanted organs) which causes him to come down with every little thing that's going around. I think it would be interesting in how Dean took it either post or pre series but during the series I love too.

Past s5, Dean lives with Lisa and Ben, and suffers all teh issues and PTSD after the clusterfuck that has been his life. One of the reactions his body has to that (it can have other things, too - let your imagination run wild) is erectile dysfunction. Dean just can't get it up. It's got nothing to do with Lisa - in fact, it would be super sweet if they still have sex (of sorts) and Dean makes sure Lisa gets off and is happy. He just doesn't get off himself anymore.

It's one of those nasty, freezing raining kind of days and Sammy gets a ride home from school with a friend without checking in with Dean first (Let's say Sam's ~10), and surprise! John's home. Dean stumbles in, like two hours later and John's about to rip him a new one for not watching his brother when Dean sees Sammy and pretty much collapses. He's soaked through, freezing, and has pretty much been searching frantically around town for his brother; he'd finally decided he had to go home and call John to let him know that someone kidnapped their baby. Dean's headed straight to fever/chest cold territory, but is just relieved as fuck that Sam's home and safe. John's not really sure what to do with his kids, and is kind of pissed off about that, but he's trying, really. And Sammy's stuck halfway between "Normal families don't act like this! God!" and "Holy crap, did I break Dean?" (I suspect that this is where Sam spent a decent chunk of his adolescence.)
