Absolutely. I've had cats and dogs, and volunteered at a wildlife park for over 13 years. I've seen the sense of humor in many animals, even snakes. -

It's amazing how often celebrities pass away in threes. A few days ago, Ed McMahon died. This morning, Farrah Fawcett lost her battle with cancer. But it was something of a shock when I channel surfed and saw on CNN that Michael Jackson had had a cardiac arrest and was taken to the hospital in a coma.

Carrot cake
I'd gone to the supermarket to do my weekly shopping, and heard an announcement that they were going to give away a free cake shortly. What they do is place paper squares with a number on each on the floor within a 20 foot distance from the bakery. Well, when they said they were going to announce the number, I was in the area, so I stood on one.

When I got up this morning, the sky was blue, the few clouds around were white and puffy; it looked like the rain had left. For once, the weather forecasters were right. So I had breakfast and got ready for church.

It rained
After 14 straight days of temperatures 100 degrees and above - and in May, yet - it has cooled down into the 90s. A microburst Monday night (which sent my male cat, Matata, inside to complain and demand I do something) helped. The weather forecasters said there was a 30% chance of rain today, and for once they were right.

And I was doing so well. . .
I have a cold. It's the first one I've had in a looooong time. It went straight to my chest (Since I've had both bronchitis and Valley Fever, I'm very susceptible to chest colds.), of course.
So, I went to my medicine cabinet to see what I had. The only cold remedy I can take is Coricidin HBP, since I am on blood pressure medicine. The type I had ( Read more... ) -

What is the first book you remember reading? I suppose it was one of the "Golden Books", but I really remember the Bobbsey Twins books, because it was an earlier printing - from the 1930s, I believe
