Why does my new Hamster stink?!?!?!

A sweet little fancy ham was abandoned in front of Petco and I adopted her. She has been with me a week. She is in her new home with clean litter and food - and she STINKS! Like poo!

I have a white Syrian hamster he is about 11-12 weeks old. Lately though I've noticed him sneezing (squeaking?) mostly when asleep. When awake it is not as noticeable maybe 1-2 time but when asleep it's more often. I do not burn candles/other things or spray anything in my room. He is in aspen bedding. Do you give your hamster sand baths? Do I need to?

I have a short haired, black-furred, Syrian hamster, with nice soft, glossy fur. She is my third hamster; neither of my previous hamsters - another short haired and a long haired - had sand baths. Does Poppy hamster need one?
