Hi everyone,

I went in to check on Margret earlier and found her asleep laying on her back, paws up. Of course I thought the worst to begin with but after talking to her a bit she woke up and moved into her usual curld up fluffball sleeping position. So I'm just wondering if this is normal or if I should worry?

I am at my wit's f--king end. I have cared for hamsters for over six years and have had Dorothy for a year and a half. She is a very good hamster but has become SO needy. Her bin cage is huge, I just moved her to a bigger one actually, and has plenty of housing and toys but she won't stop pawing at or chewing on the lid. The most annoying is that ( Read more... )

Of course she tried to hide from me in a toilet paper roll today - with her butt AND head hanging out.  I think her skills are best on the offensive...

My sweet hamster did the sweetest thing for me today.
Yesterday he was a little anti-social, not allowing pets and kisses,
but this afternoon he came down to the floor of his cage and sat up,
right as I happened to walk by.  I open his door, and scooped him up
in my hand, holding him close by my right shoulder.  He stayed there,

I have a year and a half old female Syrian who has been relatively unremarkable until last night: has never bitten, very calm and content, has potty trained herself into one corner, eats and drinks regularly; in other words is exceptionally healthy. She's still as active and vibrant as she was when I first got her but she has been chewing lately. A ( Read more... )
