It has rained almost every day for the past five days -- which is great news! We were officially classified as a "Severe Drought" area, which, coupled with the late hard freeze, was making the first year on the farm not-so-productive from a food standpoint.

Things have been busy lately, so I haven't had much time to post. Things continue to go well at the farm, though there's always more to be done. I replaced a window in the tack room today, mowed the front yard at the old house, hung some pictures, etc. and so forth. It just seems like a weekend isn't enough. We closed on Friday and went up to see the new place today. We removed a wall while we were there, which was surprisingly easy and fun. Blake and I work well together. He finishes my thoughts. While almost every county is voting roughly 80% YES and 20% NO (Davidson is currently 69-31) on the Constitutional Amendment (#1) to ban gay marriage, there's ONE county that stands out at 52% NO and 48% YES with 22/33 precincts reporting... Hope you all voted today, even if things don't turn out the way you wanted them. The most important thing is that you make your voice heard. I spent two hours waiting to make my voice heard.
