Hello.
Things have been busy lately, so I haven't had much time to post. Things continue to go well at the farm, though there's always more to be done. I replaced a window in the tack room today, mowed the front yard at the old house, hung some pictures, etc. and so forth. It just seems like a weekend isn't enough. Most of it gets eaten with the usual chores -- cooking, laundry, etc.
We did slack off a bit on Saturday. After a (now weekly) trip to Lowe's, we met up with Matthias, who was kind enough to make the trek. We had lunch at Larivierre's in the square. Pretty good grub. Then we took in some shopping. For some reason, Goody's prices seemed absurdly high on just about everything. Frustrated, we went to an overstock placed called Rugged Wearhouse. I found some socks, and Matthias came away with a couple pair of pants. they have great prices -- the selection is little lacking, as most of the sizes are bizarre. I know The Kit has been busy with work and school, but we miss him and hope to see him soon.
And we need rain. Everything has started to turn green, but most plants don't seem very happy. Kitfox Pond has virtually dried up. No rain in the forecast except for a chance of showers on Friday. I can't remember a March this dry and hot.
I'm taking next Friday and Monday off, making a list, checking it twice, and am going to bust my ass to get some of the more pressing projects out of the way. Mainly, I just want the unpacking and settling to be DONE so I can turn my attention to my normal OCD housecleaning. Yay OCD!
Matthias and I have tickets to Thursday's Preds/Red Wings game, which should be good (still up by 2 points, even though we lost the season series with them). Speaking of sports, my teams in the NCAA tourney (Memphis, Vandy) are now out, though it was a great run. And I think I turned in the worst brackets in my personal history. Based on recent history, who would've guessed a 1-2-1-2 Final Four?!?
We also have tickets to the season-closer on the following Thursday, and I'm looking forward to Blek, me, Kit and Matthias getting a bite and making the game. T-shirt night!!!
