Day 2: St. Vladimir's Academy | Wednesday Evening FH-Time
Classes at St. Vladimir's Academy were on-going in the days leading up to the ski trip, leaving plenty of free time for non-students and their mentors. As anyone would expect, Dimitri made certain Rose knew to meet him in the gym during a free period so they could have their usual training session.
After the stressful day at the Badicas, Dimitri was worried about Rose and her freakout. It was natural, yes, but he'd never seen her so obviously upset and lacking control. Time practicing her fighting maneuvers with a stake seemed just the thing to help teach his mentee to channel her frustrations into something useful.
But then, Rose wasn't the only one frustrated. The thought that there were Strigoi working with humans to plan attacks on Moroi compounds was an attack on their society's basic beliefs about how Strigoi worked. It removed some of the weaknesses that Guardians counted on to stay ahead of assaults and was already breeding fear within the walls of the academy. After debriefing the other academy guardians on the Badica situation, he felt it was only a matter of time before things grew worse.
The vampiric morning had been spent greeting friends like Tasha Ozera, who had arrived to spend the ski trip with her nephew. Seeing her again was enough to get Dimitri wondering about what would happen with his own work situation after this vacation. She made it clear once again that she was still interested in offering him a guarding assignment plus...more. It was a strong temptation. Dimitri couldn't help but think anything that separated him from Rose would be the best thing for the younger girl, no matter the consequence for him.
It seemed the only escape from Dimitri's own personal frustrations was the opportunity to revel in the fact that he was finally working in Jessi-free gym zone.
