I'm feeling a little fragile today hence why my pic is of a puppy. I thought it might help.

Yesterday I received several lovely surprises, a phonecall from the wonderful snuggly_llama, an unexpectedly early husband, and an early omylouse which meant a nice long sociable evening which was concluded with strawberries and vanilla ice cream ( Read more... )

Just you wait till you look at your baby in the face...! I wrote these verses for the Ode to Joy for another friend who was expecting:
Sing a song of joy and gladness,
Sing it just because you can,
In the face of fear and sadness,
It's still good to be a man.
Life is greater than all evils,
Than the sum of every pain;
Sense and sight and thought and freedom
Sing for thanks and sing again!

Then there is the joy of people,
Friends and strangers, close and far;
If you find one soul to love,
Joy becomes the thing you are.
If a noble wife and husband
Join their lives, new life is born;
Just the lonely, sterile, loveless
Fear or hate the coming morn!

People are nicer to you when you are pregnant, it makes me wonder why they can't be that nice all the time. I did at one point muse that it might be quite nice to be tubby enough that people think you are pregnant, as people would always be so friendly and considerate.

Try doing some pelvic tuck exercises, and when you walk keep your pelvis underneath you and level, and pull your tummy in a bit like you are trying to look a month less pregnant so your lower abs are doing a bit more work. It's really tempting to let the duck-butt go, but you will be seriously hurting in a couple of months if you don't keep an eye on it. Sitting on an exercise ball might help, and when your back is sore lying/kneeling over one will too, especially if himself rubs your back, possibly with a tennis ball.

What she says. Look into pregnancy yoga, as well. Most of it shouldn't be a problem with dyspraxia, though you might want to mention it to any instructor before signing up. Make sure they know what you're about.

Ooh! Also, tennis balls in a sock! Take two tennis balls, stuff them in the foot of a sock (and tie them in there with a hair band or something) and then roll your back on them against a wall, with one ball on either side of your spine. It feels incredibly good, and you get to control the pressure level. It's also good exercise if you try to do the entire length of your spine in one go. ;-)

Actually, the best solution seems to be to simply lean against raygungothic's arm. He says he doesn't mind the loss of circulation too much. ;)

Not in London, they're not. No one notices you, really, except for other pregnant women. Still, I chose to live in a city, and if I want niceness, I do have my friends and my husband.
