An all but sleepless night, but at least the AC was fixed early this afternoon. The morning was sunny and humid, the afternoon cloudy and rainy. Our high was 88F.

A rather incredible thunderstorm last night, thunder rolling back and forth across the valley, nonstop lightning. Today, cloudy early, then sun. Our high was 86F. Still no AC. Tomorrow, we are told.

Hot again today. It has been a hot, hot summer, like the hot summers of my childhood. The high was 93˚F, with a heat index 101˚F.

I got no work done today. I woke at 5 a.m., got up at 6 a.m., and pretty much literally sat and stared at the walls for the next three hours.
