"I came home to a city half-erased. I came home to face what we faced."

Hot again today. It has been a hot, hot summer, like the hot summers of my childhood. The high was 93˚F, with a heat index 101˚F.

I got no work done today. I woke at 5 a.m., got up at 6 a.m., and pretty much literally sat and stared at the walls for the next three hours.

That was my morning.

This afternoon's film was Christopher Nolan's Inception (2010). I am actually beginning to think of this film as my own personal Citizen Kane of science-fiction films.

I've begun reading Nick Cave's The Death of Bunny Munro, and it is far and away grimmer than anything I have ever even thought of writing. I'm honestly uncertain whether I will be able to finish it.

Kentucky is washing away.

Frankly, I didn't know I could manage an entry even that long and substantial.

Later Tater Beans,
Aunt Beast
