"A heady brew of outrage and self idolatry." (288)

Sunny. This has been a genuinely hot day. Maybe our first day of summer. Our high was 92F.

This birthday thing is far too close. And speaking of, today Selwyn turned eleven.

I woke at 4 a.m. and could not get back to sleep. Maybe four hours, all told.

I signed a contract for a new Italian-language colection of my Lovecraftian short fiction, to be published by Edizioni Hypnos (Milan).

This afternoon's film was Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). I'm watching all the Indiana Jones films again in anticipation of the fifth film, due out at the end of June. Raiders was one of those films very special to me as a teenager. It was the summer between my junior and senior years in high school when it was released, and my girlfriend and I saw it a lot. Not sure how many times. Back then, we'd make an early evening matinee for less than two bucks each, so you could afford to see movies over and over.

There's a paper on a new mosasaurine mosasaur from Antarctica, perhaps closely related to Plotosaurus and Mosasaurus, but I haven't yet gotten my hands on the paper.

"Enter the New Puritans, conformists with pretensions of radicalism, crowned with halos of their own making. Telling others what to think is their speciality." ~ Andrew Doyle

I think that's all for now. Have a look at the Dreaming Squid Sundries shop. Cool shit. Thanks.
