I just received Damon Knights Creating Short Fiction in the post, which was recommended to me, so I’ll be mining that for ideas and thoughts in the coming days. I couldn’t sleep last night, and so I started thinking about that whole write one million words of crap before you write something decent thing. Too much steak in my literary diet?
I carved Mr. Wolf up over the weekend, and I’m typing up the corrections from hard copy in between real life stuff. Should be done by Wednesday. I like this story, but I’m not happy with it at all. I can see a few problems, but they will get fixed up in the next draft later in the month. And then I’ll rack it up for a good mauling through critters ( Read more... ) -

Update and an anecdote
Well, I completed the final first draft I’m going to do in January. Mr. Wolf, it be called. Though I don’t really think that will be the final title. I think It’s the strongest contender of the January batch to stand up to the rigours of my redrafting and rewriting process. My perfect anthology
I’ve been recovering from a bout of man flu today, so after getting down a grand or so in words on a short story, I started the serious business of deciding which short stories would make my perfect anthology.
