I've been reading A Plum in Your Mouth: Why the Way We Talk Speaks Volumes About Us.  Or rather, listening to it on audiobook.  It's primarily written for British consumption, but aside from having to wiki a few of the names, I've been able to keep up pretty well.  It is a book on language and dialect, after all.

I have a lot of respect for the people of Iran. At a time when most Americans think that the so called "Tea Parties" are giving our government what for proper, these guys in Iran are putting their fucking lives on the line.
