I've mastered making brushes that stay the way they are (aka in RBG not greyscale). But I've been trying to make a brush in greyscale with a transparent background, and when I go to save it, I get a message that the GIMP plug in could not save the image as the brush file. How do you make a brush that paints automatically in the foreground colour rather than in the colour it was saved in?

I've been messing around in the Gimp over the past few days and I think I've done a pretty good job learning on my own (so to speak...I made the userpic I'm using. I'm fairly proud of it xD)

Is there a way to create animated brushes in gimp using different shades of grey? When I create gbr-brushes using different grey tones it affects the opacity of the brush.

In the last couple of days I wanted to create some animated brushes with varying opacity. But somehow I can't figure it out.

Does someone know how to do it?

I've been trying to create a brush with a gradient perpendicular to the direction drawn if that makes sense. I'm not very experienced when it comes to making brushes and  have gotten a bit stuck.

I created a .gih with 36 layers of what was originally a 1x15 pixel gradient, rotated in 10 degree intervals.

Hi guys, I'm relatively new to Gimp and I'm wondering what to do with brushes. I've downloaded some Gimp brushes from Deviant Art and put them in the right folder, but they aren't showing up when I go to use them. Do I need to convert them first? What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

 I just recently downloaded GIMP, and I downloaded some brushes that people have made, and when I went to use them for icons they were really big. I can't figure out how to change the size of them, or any of the brushes for that matter. Can someone help me?

I've been downloading and installing the .abr files for brushes, and I've discovered that the brushes that have any design outside the basic shape of the outline just comes up solid when I use it. And I've tried downloading the image pack and making it a brush myself, and I get pretty much the same thing. Is there anyway of getting the brushes to ( Read more... )
