I've just downloaded a bunch of pretty brushes and went to install them like I used to on XP and... apparently doing it on Vista is NOT the same. Can anyone help me with how to install my new brushes on Vista?

I've just started working with Gimp and making icons but I think I've got most of the basics down. However I know I'm not using my brushes right (or I suppose I'm not using them to their full potential). So I need help with two things here.

Alrighty, I was wondering, can you use paintbrushes from photoshop in GIMP? If you can how do you do it and how does it work. Also  it's a .rar file (which i opened), and inside the actual paintbrush is a .abr file. What do I do about that? My computer won't let me see it.

Can anyone point me in the direction of any nice Christmas brushes.

Preferably 100x100 brushes.

I have a question about everyone's favorite subject- brushes!

I've been using GIMP for a really long time and I know how to make custom brushes. I can't save them by saving the image as ".gbr" file. So I use the Script-Fu (Edit -> Paste as -> New Brush). My brushes appear and work perfectly.

Okay, I just downloaded GIMP a few days ago and I've been fooling around with it. I'm really confused how to upload textures, fonts or brushes. I'm also confused on how to use layers and stuff.
