How do you make hearts in Gimp 2.4? I'm making layouts and I'd like to make my own backgrounds.

Ok, so this is going to sound like a really stupid question, but I'm new to gimp so...

So my question is: if I want to download brushes where would I save them? I want to download some and I have absolutely no idea where to save them to! It's kinda been driving me crazy for a while, so a quick answer would help my sanity greatly ;D

I need some help. Major help. Either I am having a brain fart or it is simply not possible. I downloaded GIMP 2.2.4 recently. I have used it for generic icons, but today I wanted to make some brushes and such and I cannot find the Script-Fu option that allows you to save them right into your brush file.
