Well, I haven't updated this thing in a long time. But I just felt the need to share the news that...

I ACTUALLY FINISHED NANOWRIMO THIS YEAR!

I feel like a total winner. For once. The story's not done, so I'll have to keep going, but the 50,000+ words are on the page. Phew.

Yup, today I started work with an old trainer contact of mine (I've worked with her before, but not for a while), and started it on a GREAT foot. so, my phone is on the fritz and is deleting everything as soon as it arrives. if anyone has tried to call/text me in the past few days, i have no idea and no way of recovering it -- very bad. technology is occasionally a curse.

this coming week is my one-year anniversary of my struggle with NDPH. although my case is not as severe as many other people with the same disease, i am feeling a little hopeless at the prospect of facing the rest of my life with headaches every day. about a year ago, i would not have even considered myself a particularly headache-prone person. okay, so the lp was horrifyingly awful. it took 2 or 3 times longer than normal, because my csf did not want to come out. the doctor kept saying, 'i've done this a hundred times and i've never seen anything like this!'. real reassuring. so they kept doing strange things to try to make it come out and tilting my table to absurd angles and ( Read more... )

i am so fucking scared to get my lumbar puncture tomorrow/technically today. that is my spine and a big fucking needle. i read about the procedure on a few medical sites (my only previous experience is 'house') and even though it doesn't sound too horrific i still got nauseous. they are sticking a needle into my spine. not okay.

i am watching this 90's horror film on sci-fi right now - 'the mouth of madness', a lovecraft homage by the same director as 'halloween'. it is not a fabulous movie. but it is still SCARING THE CRAP OUT OF ME. it's pretty freaky when it isn't being silly and campy ( Read more... )
