Well, there was big news from the desert.  Big news that was a total shock! Larry got tapped to go to a 3 week school back here at Colorado Springs and the commanding officer let him have a 3 day pass so he could fly into Atlanta! Larry was able to send me a few pictures from Kuwait.  he and another guy were headed to the airport to pick up one of the colonels.  Larry let the other guy drive and he played tourist with a camera.  The side mirror pic is my fav.

Normally the 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. Having been raised in the Air Force by a fiercely patriotic family, I look forward to the 4th.  We normally have a big picnic on the 4th for Larry’s office or our friends from church or something.  This year with him in Kuwait really took some of the luster of the holiday for me. Well, two weeks down and 14 weeks to go. *sigh*  I talked to Larry Sunday morning early before Church.  You never realize how quickly fifteen minutes goes until that is all the time you have to talk.  It seems like we have just started when it is time to hang up.  But being able to chat via the IMs is our lifesaver.

It seems we have a pattern going.  Larry has been much more able to chat via the AIM rather then the phone. Its okay with me, I just like to spend a bit of time with him through any medium. Although, I find myself missing the sound of his voice.  Hopefully we will meet up again today on the AIM.

It was a long week. I didn’t hear from Larry again till Saturday. He and I were able to have a nice long IM chat while he did his laundry.   Thank goodness for the internet!  He is working 12 hour shifts on the Ops floor. He said the job itself is much like what he is used to but everything else is a bit different.
