Landlord's lament
I still have my flat in London. It hasn't made me any money over the years, but the rent has covered the mortgage and it has gained some equity, although that has taken a hit in the last year or so.

Happy Me
As a hobby, I’m Sound Engineer for a nearby community theatre. We currently have a run of ‘Compleat Female Stage Beauty’ (Fri-Sat-Sun every weekend for a month)
After the show on Saturday 3 of us grabbed guitars and strummed away on the stage for a few more hours, entertaining the cast

Earthquakes
I'll be glad when earthquake season is over. After yesterday afternoon's 4.0 aftershock where the whole building shook as if someone had dropped a heavy object nearby (we were only 4 miles from the epicenter), I woke at 2am (at home in bed now, not at work!) feeling a similar shock with a few echoes trailing after it. City of Angels - flying solo
Opening night tonight - and I'm doing the sound without my training wheels as John will be working on his regular (paying) job. I'm feeling pretty confident. There are just a couple of places where the cues fly fast and furious, and as long as the pc doesn't seize up like it did last night things should go ok. -
Carousel
Well the Dress rehearsal went ok. I mussed up my first 2 cues, juggling 3 CDs and 2 pairs of headphones. I'll have to come up with something to simplify that tomorrow. Now we start the real run - shows Friday, Saturday and Sunday, then Thursday , Friday, Saturday, Sunday next week (I think). I had 4 people in the audience. I was glad they came ( Read more... ) -

Currently downloading Windows 7 Beta. I'm very happy with Vista, but am eager to see how Microsoft have packaged Lucky 7. I hope it will catch on. Maybe Obama will endorse it. -

Viva Las Vegas!
T im's brother Mark had a business convention in Vegas this week, so he suggested we meet up here over the weekend. We booked our air tickets, hotel and car... then Mark backed out. So we're here on our own. No big deal; we're having a fun time.
