Long weekend just passed here in Canberra, much on and not much time for just bumming around and relaxing.

Back from flying (well, bussing) trip to Sydney to go and see the new production of The Rocky Horror Show last night. 'Twas pretty damn fun. iOTA was awesome as Frank, Paul Capsis was a good Riff Raff and the people playing Brad, Janet, Cloumbia and Rocky were all pretty good as well. Just had a VERY distressed Mum on the phone. *sigh* They took my step-Dad's epidural block out early this morning (or last night, not sure - she wasn't making a lot of sense at the start) and his pain was massively intense and uncontrolled. Now he's back on the ward the poor nursing staff are limited so it was taking a while to get pain relief ( Read more... )

Well, the apology, first raised by the Bringing Them Home report (and wiki article here), has finally been given by Prime Minister Rudd (of the new Australian Labour government) to the Australian Parliament.
