We are down in Florida for my dad's 90th birthday. We decided to stay in a motel so that I can get a handicap-access shower, but I think it is going to work out well to NOT be staying at the house. The last couple of days I have been walking around without the crutch, but I overdid it a little bit, and my ankle has been pretty sore. Today I went to the doctor, and he said I am finally ready to graduate to a real shoe. Plus, I am allowed to drive, as long as I feel my leg is strong enough. Yesterday at the assisted living complex I was actually managing to walk faster than a couple of the old folks in walkers. I explained to my flute teacher that I was having trouble getting rid of my one remaining crutch because when I tried to walk with no crutches my knee would hurt. It is "two steps forward, one step backward". The doctor says my bone density is returning, thank goodness! He let me out of the boot and put me in a "surgical shoe". Our PC died on Tuesday. As soon as you click on a user profile to log on, it reboots. This was unfortunate, since I hadn't gotten all my stuff off of it yet. Luckily, we were able to boot it in safe mode, and it could still access the backup drive in safe mode. (The thumb drive would not work.)
