The whole college thing has me at a serious loss. That's my baby girl.

Mom doesn't have much left to live for, in her opinion, and that's why it is such a big deal. Her arthritis keeps her homebound for the most part but it's her lack of sight that stops her from being mobile the most. If she could see, she could walk around more confidently. Also she can no longer read or do any handwork like crochet. If she could see it would make her happier and make my life easier too. She has a lot riding on this.

Heh. I like that idea. My weasels seem to be like the ones in Roger Rabbit, barely oganized but capable of a great deal of evil when properly motivated.

I hope that the eye surgery improves her vision - that will do quite a lot to help with the quality of life. Still, I can understand the anxiety. I have read about the procedure - and it really does freak me out.

Me too. She would definitely have a better quality of life if she could do the things she loves like crocheting and reading.

The operation itself takes 10-15 minutes and doesn't really freak me out. Getting to the point where this is actually happening has been the stressful part. She had to be well enough, her diabetic ulcers needed to be under control, we needed to find a surgeon that would take high risk patients and her gp had to clear her. After all that, the actually surgery seems like a cake walk.

/me passes over a large pillow for smothering the brain weasels.

If they're still twitching after you smother them, I recommend a chainsaw.

How is it possible you are doing college tours? That entire process is exciting and terrifying at the same time.
