It seems that nothing came of that appalling message from earlier. Could that mean, despite the conviction and intensity that man spoke with, residents of this town are as helpless with their powers regained as they are without?

I'm concerned about this. Are we truly fighting a losing battle?

Perhaps it is not a matter of how much we wish to escape ( Read more... )

There's no such thing as a losing battle unless you give it up! You keep fighting until your last breath! Even if we get brainwashed, we have to be getting somewhere--somewhere they don't want us to be.

And you obviously never had teeth in your milk.

Teeth in your milk? Is that really all? That's what you're bending the heavens backwards for?

Your tenacity is admirable, though.

... The mayor had me killed when I first came here. I don't like to talk about it, but I'm not gonna see it happen to anybody else. I'm gonna get everyone else out of here before something like that happens again.

Death has no hold on you here, so why bother?

Your general reasoning is sound, though you have neglected certain factors.

Whether or not this town makes an acceptable home is not necessarily the issue. There are other reasons for desiring to leave, the most obvious being an unresolved issue in the home world.

Are such issues really something only one person can do? All things are entirely replaceable.

Humans find comfort in predictability. It's only natural that they wouldn't like a place like this.

Predictability, yes. I'm familiar with that.

Then you would know how they work to an extent - why they are never content with where they are.

And yet they need something to believe in. Even if it's pointless and wrong.

Tch. Course we hate it here. We just..wake up, away from home and without our things, away from those we know and care about...Some of us were in the middle of things back home too.

No problem. xD everyoneistrash July 3 2009, 15:59:07 UTC

I haven't been here long at all, and I'm not about to give up any time soon. It wouldn't matter if this place was like heaven, it still wouldn't be home and it still isn't my real family.

Success is unattainable. It doesn't seem to matter whether or not you fight until your last breath.

I'm simply trying to be realistic.

You can't know that for sure.
