I am going to Scotland at the end of April, and I've got three days in Edinburgh to play around with. I went there last June and hit most of the highlights, and the ones I didn't hit will take me maybe a day or too, I figure. So I'm pondering taking a day trip somewhere. I'm an American college student studying abroad for the entire school year in London. Me and at least three of my other (American) friends also studying abroad in London for the year are considering a last-minute excursion to Edinburgh. I'm heading to Scotland for a week or so next week, and will be spending a day or two in Edinburgh and a few days in the highlands. The question! Should I go to Glasgow for a day (from Edinburgh) or spend an extra day in Edinburgh? What is there to do in Glasgow? Or any other places which are better for a day trip from Edinburgh?

I'm leaving on June to visit Europe for the first time (finally!) I got a job out in Germany, so i'm going out about 10 day early.

I want to spend that time going around the UK.. Does anybody know of some good hostels to stay in? I'm talking England, Wales or Scotland (i'd love to get to Ireland, but i think that Scotland is even pushing it ( Read more... )
