Did you know that Mardi Gras in Alabama is a segregated event? I saw a documentary about it last night on PBS. There is a black parade and a white parade. The only way a black person can participate at the white mardi gras is if they are in a marching band or dancing. You can't even stand on the side and watch and catch necklaces.
