I told mom today about dad's cancer. They're divorced, and she's a nurse practitioner. She said she told him two years ago that it was cancer, and then going off about how much of an idiot he was. Mom told me today that she's so broke she can't afford the gas she needs to get to work. That, once she gets paid on Friday, we'll still be broke. Meanwhile, my next work shift is two weeks from now, because I'm only picking up shifts.
