An explanatory post/meme

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when??" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed ( Read more... )

I wish I could have had the full college experience! I took classes at a community college. I'm going to a four-year school later on but it won't be for a while. I'll be older by the time it happens so it still won't be making up for the experience I'm lacking.

I want to let you know that I also read all of your posts! I'm bad at commenting but I'll try to get better at it. You seem sweet and nice to know.

I did two years in a technical (community) college, so I totally understand. Technically I only get a year and a half at this college, because the last semester is student teaching.

Well, I read all of your posts! Haha I don't think I've ever been called sweet before :)

Ah you're getting engaged? that's amazing! :D gives me hope that there are lesbian couples out there who can be happy and stay together a long time! I'm happy for you!

I don't even know what sorority means (I know nothing about American universities), so that part didn't make much sense to me haha. Sounds like a good experience.

I'll try and fill this out when i have time :D

are you worried at all about elyse rushing but not getting in? would it make it awkward for you?

Oh she'll definitely get in. She's very good with people when put into a given situation. But ultimately different sororities are about different personalities, and I don't think ours is similar enough for us to be in the same one. I worry about Katie, she's nervous and shy, but if she did get a bid I think it'd be in mine. It would definitely be awkward if one didn't get into a sorority at all, but I think they both know that's a risk.

oh so you mean that you think she'll get into a sorority but not yours? also, if you don't mind me asking, is your school really into greek life? do you have houses and such? since i go to a school where it's really uncommon (apparently only four percent of students at my school are involved in greek orgs) and we don't have houses, i think the rush process is done differently. at least, that's what the book "pledged" taught me. haha.

We have 9 sororities on campus. Greek life is very present on campus, although I think we have a low percentage total. There's 150 girls in my sorority. All of the sororities have houses, but since we live in an historic district new buildings can't really be built. Therefore, only like 15 girls can live in the house. Now I'm curious as to how you guys do rush!
