You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? Since when??" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers, putting yours in their place, then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-word answers seldom help anyone out. :)
1. First Name: Bobbi
2. Age: 21
3. Location: South Carolina
4. Occupation:I'm an elementary education student, hoping to get into grad school for Speech Pathology
5. Partner?: I'm dating a girl named Kim, who is two years younger than me. We've been dating for two years now (and dorm roommates for one). We've known each other for about six years now. About every third entry I mention the fact that we're getting engaged soon. I've been looking for rings but it's hard to predict what she'd like. We plan on getting married in three years. If I ever skype with you, I'll tell you how I plan on proposing.
6. Kids: I have a little sister, Summer. She's 8 and is on the autism spectrum. She counts as a kid because I practically raised her.
7. Brothers/Sisters: Technically I have one brother, K.C., who is six, and one sister, Summer, who is 8. But K.C. is not really a part of my life, and Summer is more of my own kid. So I'd like to say that I'm in an honors fraternity (which makes us brothers), and a social sorority (which makes us sisters). I have a position in both, and talk about it on and off.
8. Pets: My sister has a cat named Pumpkin.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
college: I'm working on graduating with my education degree and attempting to get into grad school. It's all very stressful. This year I'll be in school first semester and student teaching second semester.
sorority. Pretty much when I'm in college the only things I have going on are sorority/fraternity things. In my sorority I'm alumnae relations and in my honors fraternity I'm the initiate advisor, which means this year I'll have three hours of chapter on Sunday. I'm supposed to get a little in both this semester, so I'm sure I will talk a lot about rush and rush crushes. My two suitemates are rushing this semester, which also makes things interesting. here Family: When I'm not in my dorm, I live with my mom and my sister. My mom is a nurse practictioner. We've always been really close but lately we've grown a bit apart. I love my sister dearly, though her fake illnesses are getting old, "my tummy hurts!". My dad lives about fifteen minutes away with my baby brother (K.C., 6) and my stepmom Vicky. My dad is an alcoholic who has recently admitted to having skin cancer, which he's put off dealing with for so long that it's probably bad now. My baby brother was born with a few birth defects and we're wondering if he might be a little mentally retarded (literally, not in the joking way).
girlfriend: My girlfriend, Kim, is wonderful and I mention her a lot. I'm proposing pretty soon, and I'm very excited about it. To read more about our relationship, reference
this post. 10. Parents? My mom raised me, my dad didn't. My mom helps me, my dad doesn't. My mom's healthy, my dad's not.
11. Who are some of your closest friends?
- Kim. Duh.
- Cayla, a pledge sister of mine in my sorority. We bonded because we were both upperclassman transfer students.
- Brooke, another sister of mine that I have a bit more in common with, but she's a bit more busy, too.
- Elyse, one of my suitemates. We were originally very close, but our relationship got strained towards the end of spring semester when she started to obsess over cleanliness. We go back and forth between being on the same page and in different books. She's rushing this semester, but I don't think she'll end up in my sorority. Elyse and I grew up similarly, because we both had to take care of our families when our mom's had mental breakdowns, and both of our dad's make a ton of money but spend it on ridiculous things.
- Katie, my other suitemate. She used to be a bit OCD and hard to get along with, but second semester she got on some anxiety medicine and started therapy and since then she's been wonderful. She's also rushing and I honestly think she'll get into my sorority, which is very exciting because I could see her as a potential little. Katie grew up more like Kim - upper middle class stable household. Even though me and Elyse have more in common with our past, me and Katie treat the present and the future a bit more similarly.

If anyone has a question, feel free to ask!
Also, it doesn't take me long to consider my lj friends AS real friends, so if someone's going through a rough patch I don't mind skyping/calling. Or just in general, because I have time.
Also also, I'm a bit verbose. I've tried to start doing lj-cuts so as not to swamp people's friends pages, and to post a little less frequently. I don't mean to be so long-winded!
Also also also, I read everyone's posts. Literally every single one. But most of the time, I read it on my phone, which makes it a little complicated for me to respond. But don't think you're ever overlooked, 'cause you're not!
