I told mom today about dad's cancer. They're divorced, and she's a nurse practitioner. She said she told him two years ago that it was cancer, and then going off about how much of an idiot he was. That sounds like something my mother would say. It does get really irritating and you just get exasperated by it. I am sorry that your mother reacted that way.

Sadly, the majority of men are very stubborn. You practically have to push them into doing anything sometimes.

i'm sorry to hear that your mom was too busy being angry with your father to be there for you and your feelings. i know it probably hurt her to hear that you kept it from her, but i think maybe it will help her realize that she needs to be there for you. i hope things get better in that regard.

i'm also sorry to hear about your father. :(
