Birdsong
The songs of birds on the Decorah Eagles' live stream reminds me of home, that semi-magical home of safety, where everything is all right, the sun is warm, and the gusting wind holds the promise of adventure.
I found one place on campus yesterday that had birds actually singing. It was a nice find, and might be my new favorite place around town. -
Lost Cat
Today, I discovered that I wonderfully fluffy cat that I thought was lost (saw her on the street a couple times on my way to work, and her tag was from 30 blocks away) apparently lives at the toy store a block down. She was sleeping on the display of stationary packages, and in revenge for me waking her up and petting her, she rubbed fur all over ( Read more... ) -
Plants
I have two plants, a philodendron and a christmas cactus. They sit in my sunny East-facing window now that I've got my new place. Turns out though, they dry out much faster with actual sunlight (imagine!) and when I forgot to water the plants for a day or two, the Christmas Cactus began sending out roots from its leaves. hearing aides
So yesterday, my father received the hearing aides that we finally convinced him to get tested for and get. It was getting to the point where I could not be on the same floor of our house when he watched TV, because it would make my ears ring, and eventually, actually. physically. HURT. so this shirt I saw at walmart...
I was looking for fabric today at walmart, and, well...what did I see? There was a shirt that had an old british-style telephone booth in it, right? Well, the design was printed so that it looked like the ink was dripping down the shirt.
