So, as I'm sure much of my f-list is aware of and celebrating, Slumdog Millionaire is now out on dvd.

This is a wonderful thing. However, since I heard about it on the radio (I ♥ my NPR station), I feel compelled to inform people of something else that was released recently (in the U.S., I imagine many other countries already had it).

I kinda can't believe I've actually dropped Orlando at DDD. I mean, the only difference it's really going to make at this point is that I'll stop going "Oh, I should have Orlando tag there later," and feeling guilty when I don't. You know something that annoys me? "It's just a sci-fi movie."
I'm not even a sci-fi fan generally, but sci-fi and fantasy get a lot of the same treatment, so it bothers me. It also bothers me because if people go around dismissing things like that, they just might be dismissing some of the best movies ( Read more... )
